Is it enjoyable to travel to Beijing with kids (8 yrs & 12 yrs) during winter season in December?


Beijing experienced it's warmest winter last year in 50 years due to global warming.The average minimum temperature for the month of December is -7C and maximum about 3C.One is required to be well wrapped up.

    I went to Beijing once during the month of December and I'll tell you this: IT'S REALLY COLD.

    All lakes and rivers are frozen and the air gets super cold at night. I think the temperature reached a -10 when I went there.

    For adults, yes. But for kids, I don't think so.

    I have been to beijing in Oct last year. Seems to be ok if you bring kids. Maybe climbing Great wall is the hardest part. The only problem with tours is that, they keep bringing you to places to buy things like Jade, tea, Tradition medicine that are expensive. Tea are expensive and the sales will keep asking you to buy more by giving you discount after you bought the first bottle of tea.

    They will bring you to see the chinese doctor and the doctor will say there is something wrong with you and ask you have to buy medicine. Same for foot massage, the massager will say you have problem and ask you to buy herbs. You will spend alot of money there. I think it really train your perseverance. Remember, many things can be bargain to 50% or less even they say there is no bargain. if you are soft heart, than you will pay alot more.

    In december Beijing your kids might enjoy it depending on if they like the cold weather, it gets pretty cold up there and it snows :P

    it can be and it can be not, it depends on the reaction of you kids as well as you when arriving here

    Beijing gets cold! Shanghai, Hong Kong, Macao, Nanjing, or Guangzhou is a good choice.

    December is too cold in beijing. you better come the end of march or april.
    or you can visit south of china in winter, the weather is not so cold there.
